We’re supposed to go Bangkok when I came back from Aussie (Last year) and guess what? both of us actually forgot the trip and miss the departure date. So careless right!
As usual, I started to blame smelly caterpillar that he did not printed the itinerary to remind himself on the travel date (I do remember reminding him to print it and he insisted not to print) so yea, we miss our Bangkok restock trip.
The story goes like this:
Lady Boss: “OK...”
Me: “Lao Pan Liang, what kind of water you have? I’ll like to order water too…
Lady Boss: (in shock) ohhhhh….we don’t sells water.
Me: “ohh not water, I mean drinks…”
Lady Boss: “sorry, we don’t sell drinks here.”
Me: (disappointed) “…”
Lady: “But we have cola and orange jus…”
Me: “then give me 2 cola, pleasen :)”
So me and caterpillar happily sat down and waited for our food. Our food arrived before the drinks do, by enjoying the super duper yummy “Ru rou fan” for the first time, we saw the staff of the restaurant was back with his bicycle carrying 2 bottle of cola… -_- and that’s our cola…the woman boss actually asked the worker to buy it from the convenience shop….because of us requesting it.

So in return, my big hearted caterpillar secretly booked the Taipei trip and there we go after 948567483 days of waiting, one month before the travelling date, that smelly caterpillar was assigned to go offshore for 2 weeks and worst to worst, tsunami hits Japan and it might hit Taiwan too!
After a few series of goggling and following the news, it was safe for us to travel, so we’ve flied to Taipei as scheduled. Weee!
It was a 4 hours flight to Taipei, when we arrived Taipei, it already 2.45pm. After collecting our language, we’ve also proceed to the arrival hall to redeem our Taiwan mobile, which we’ve applied. The best thing about the Taiwan mobile phone is – it was free rent and pre-loaded with NT100 (approximately RM10 and international call actually cost less than RM1 for 1 minutes), awesome service from Chung Hua Telecom!

After collecting our phone, we’ve decided to travel via public bus to the city and another thing that amused me was the bus service in Taiwan was simply awesome too! Despite taking the cab to the city which cost around RM110, we only need to pay RM8.90 for the bus fare. You get same service, the bus driver will carry the language for you, greet you and best of all – THERE’S NO ONE STANDING IN THE BUS, the driver will NOT take any passenger if the bus was full.
Along the road, we could see a lot of Betel nut shops me and caterpillar was excited because from TV we learn that vendor that sells the betel nut are all skimpily dressed girls :P but, frankly, speaking, throughout our stay in Taipei, we really didn’t spot one , except the cute little girl in the night market…impossible right!
The ride from the airport takes around 1 hour and arrived Taipei Main station and our hotel was located opposite the station, so it was super convenience for us to catch the bus, cab, train, MRT and of cause, shopping! After wading around that area like a lost chicken, we’ve found out hotel – Keymans Hotel.

We’ve pre-booked our room online and I’ve choose the TATAMI room for our stay. The hotel was kind of old, but it was clean. So yea, nothing much to complain except the bed was too hard for me. Ohhh, not forgetting, the all man’s wonder channel – Porn channel. They have 3 free porn channel showing in national TV. Caterpillar watched it every morning and night when we’re in the room -_-

The first place to visit of the day was “Wu fen Pu” (五分埔) it was a wholesale market located at “Mountains of the four beasts” (四獸山) we took the Taipei Metro Train and stop at Houshanpi Station (後山埤站). It was already dark when we reach there so it was bit difficult for us to find Wu Fen Pu, so smelly caterpillar said : “Let’s follow the crowds, I’m sure all of them are heading to Wu Fen Pu too.” And his right again! Haha

Not much picture was taken during the visit, because, we’re looking around eyeing for cloths. Hehe* You can basically finds any garments there, just name it and you’ll get it. Price category are very general too, it range from 100NT – 2000NT depends on which shop you’ve go in. You can try bargaining too. I ended up going back with 2 knitted top, 1 bunny oversized tee and 1 vintage pants. So little stuff I’ve bought :( Grrr! Smelly caterpillar bought a stylo biker jacket and checked top.

We had our first dinner at a food stalk that only sells FOOD. Why I say FOOD only? Because most of the restaurants in Taipei, they doesn’t have drinks in the menu, if you need drinks, you’ll probably need to walk to the next shop to buy it. Which only sell DRINKS. Both of us actually did something very paiseh:
The story goes like this:
Me: “Lao Pan Liang (woman boss), I want 1 bowl of “ru rou fan” (Taiwanese Stewed Pork with Stewed Eggs on Rice) and 1 bowl of “XXX mee” (forgot what I’ve ordered)...”
Lady Boss: “OK...”
Me: “Lao Pan Liang, what kind of water you have? I’ll like to order water too…
Lady Boss: (in shock) ohhhhh….we don’t sells water.
Me: “ohh not water, I mean drinks…”
