The Caterpillar Nest : Renovation Updates

It’s been 1 month plus since the renovation start, the renovation will be done in one week time! Yipppee!

Though I mentioned to Caterpillar that I’ll be posting the whole process of the renovation, but, yea, I’m too lazy to blog about it or I should say I don't know what to write about it.

In sum, what we did for the past 4 weeks are:

(1)The major make over for the house is definitely the bathrooms. I hate the bathroom to the max! Reason, the 2 bathroom is already ridiculously small and the previous owner had made the toilet smaller by adding the glass shower door and table top. So all of this had been dismantled and replace with simple toilet bowl and basin and re-tiled

(2)16 new power source are added on the ceiling

(3)4 power source are relocated

(4)Plaster ceiling for all the bedroom

(5)Living room plaster ceiling make over

(6)Change and add ceiling fans to all the room

(7)Replace the new table top for the dry kitchen

(8)Skim the walls

Now it is currently on painting stage :D

Talking about painting, the price quoted by our constructor is super expensive! RM2300 for workmanship and paint are not included. So we decided to hire another painter which only cost RM1800, see the difference? Both of them are Chinese sifu, so yea, we go for the RM1800 sifu.

Paint that we choose for our house are:

Nippon paint matt – for the living room, dining room, washroom and bedroom.

What color we’ve chosen for the house? If you know me well, you’ll know the answer right away. What I can say is NOTHING BOLD because we want to keep the whole feeling as minimal as possible.

Ohya, normally when the house is newly painted, it smells pretty awful, but since Nippon paint is odorless, our house smells like mint now. *Me likey*

Martex paint – for the all the ceiling

Maxilite paint – for kitchen

The color for the wet kitchen & yard is definitely loud. Never though the color will turn out so bold and smelly caterpillar actually likes it and I think the color is a good match with cactus  which I plan to make a small little dessert at the yard section.

Nippon Gloss paint – for all the doors and door’s frame.

Okay that’s all for now. Hope the next weekend we’ll be able to shop for furniture instead of hardware.

Outstanding tasks to be tick off:

(1) Lights installation
(2) Locks installation
(3) Grills installation
(4) Getting the air-con serviced
(5) Cleaning
